APF Bridge - End of Life - No longer supported

Many years ago, back when I was a one-man band, before we recruited the fantastic team here at DMC,  I was involved in a supporting an e-commerce platform built on top of Amazon's Associate Programme.

This over the years the programme was very, very successful. Amazon virtually pioneered online e-commerce and were leaders in affiliate marketing whereby website owners promoted Amazon's products in return for a commission.

The project I was involved with was a script by a fellow who went by the tagline of 'MrRat'. The script was called Amazon Products Feed and it allowed websites to carry either a range of Amazon products, or more usually a pretty full clone of Amazon's inventory.

I developed an Addon which could be installed in Mambo and later the Joomla content management system, that bridged with MrRat's script to incorporate an Amazon store right into your CMS powered website.

Well, in the last few years Amazon have developed their own widgets that you can embed within your website and they have disincentivised the develpment of scripts such as MrRat's APF.

Taken together, the disincentives to operate your own Amazon store, and Amazon's promotion of their own widgets means that there is no longer a real use for the APF Bridge component. Consequently, a couple of years ago we ceased active develpment and support of the APF Bridge extension. Recently we have removed the extension from our own site.

This page is purely a placeholder to prevent tens of thousands - perhaps hundreds of thousands - of 404 page not found errors.

If you are looking for an Amazon add-on for you Joomla website then I'm afraid you will need to look elsewhere.

We wish you well with your search.
