I followed the advice on settings contained within these reviews and had no problem in making it work on my windows laptop running XP. However it simply will not work or the software install properly on the copy of Windows I have running on my I Mac. Which is a shame because I have 300 Gig to play with there. for this reason it dont get the 5 stars from me Rating:  - Reasonable product - rubbish instructionsI got this to work on Vista but not XP. The instructions (if you can call them that) are utter rubbish. Poorly translated Chinese and completely inadequate even at that. You really have to find out for yourself by trial and error. If you can get it running, it actually works reasonably well. I admit that the instructions are pretty rubbish & there is no troubleshooting guide - maybe we should set up a users group & help each other? It is not ideal & the software is a bit unstable, but for the money i think that it is a good buy. Julie Mason Rating: - Works well - Good product for the money.I feel it is necessary to leave a review to say that the product is well worth the money. Having read previous reviews, I was unsure as to bother buying or not - but as alterantive solutions were so expensive I though it was well woth giving it a shot. If you are reasonably technical, you shouldn't have any problems installing the software , although as previously stated some of the stuff is in French. There is enough English instructions to successfully install and connect. Once setup you de need to tweak the options to get a good picture (i.e. video format) but it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.. then you're good to go. I initially bought this for converting VHS but it can be used to record other stuff off of cable etc.. so could prove to be very useful. Glad I tired it. |
