Electronics : Creative GigaWorks T20Rating: - Superb!Other people have more in depth reviews but I just wanted to echo what they said. These speakers are superb in every way. I'm using them on a high end gaming pc and used to have 5.1 surround sound via a separate component system but when I moved house I was looking for something more compact and that would give equal sound quality. These speakers sound warm, rich and give music/games a real depth. Even though the RMS rating is only 14watts, that is plenty and they do kick out rather loud for what they are. A great product. Rating: - Nice KitWell pleased with these speakers. Top notch quality of build and sound great as long as you don't drive them flat out. Great value I feel. Rating: - Very unlucky, or very poor speakersI bought these as they were the only 2.0 in this price range. Within minutes of using them I discovered a high pitched whining coming from the left speaker, which was particularly noticable at low volumes. I googled about and disovered many people had had this problem. I thought I would give them a second chance, so I asked for a replacement set. Amazon provided this quickly, but they suffered from exactly the same problem! Very disappointing. I have now returned both sets for refund and gone for the superior but more expensive Bose companion 2. Rating: - Bang on for the moneyI disagree with the last two reviewers - these are very good for £45, and perfect if you want a pair of speakers connected to a PC, and you want clear, well resolved sound. I have had 3 or 4 Creative systems prior to this, and have always found they make well constructed, musical kit. They are a good size, not too big (like T40s) by your PC, and well made, with separate grilles. Agree that the blue light is annoying, but a dab of white-tack covers that up no problem. These speakers are not really for bassheads, if thats your bag I suggest you stick to a 2.1 system and muddy everything up with great big wodges of low end. Not for me. I have replaced a 2.1 PC speaker system with these and am well happy because their resolution is far superior...but then again, I accept that for £45 I will not be rivalling the £10K system I have in my music room...which has plenty of everything. You pays your money and takes your choice - but for sub £50, I doubt you will do better than these! Rating: - Not that greatThese speakers are only marginaly better than the usual £20 variety. They are not even worth the reduced price of £50. Sound quality is reasonable and balanced at low volumes but turn up the volume and the bass response is completely overpowered by the mid-range, making for a decidedly rubbish sound. Another thing is the stupid high powered blue LED power light which is constantly in your face. What were the designers thinking ? I have reduced the brightness of mine by painting it out with correction fluid. My advice, if you're looking good sounding speakers for playing music on your pc, look elsewhere. |
