Electronics : Palm Tungsten E2Rating: - Which palm any advice would helpHi Am thinking of getting the E2 or the palm TX Have read a load of reviews and its a mixed bag.All I want is to input appointments in the calender using the sylus and to make notes. Any advice would be great Rating: - Tungsten E2I bought a Palm Tunsten E2 Device in November 2007. That is something I now regret. I based my decision on using an earlier device from another manufacturer which also ran on Palm software without problem and was replaced after 5 years service. The problems seem to be with both the device and 3rd party software. When trying to contact the 3rd party software supplier my messages get bounced back saying that they do not accept mail from the address and to contact the website. I have done that, only to find I am listed as not being eligible for support. Since purchase I have had continual problems with the device locking and giving error messages. This has been common to both Word and Spreadsheets. The messages are all basically similar IE "Fatal Alert - MemoryMgr etc" The touchscreen is also imprecise and the handwriting recognition application is tempermental and almost impossible to use accurately. With the last problem I had to do a hard reset to recover and change my profile name on the device, plus unloading and re-loading the software on my PC. Not something to be undertaken lightly or frequently. These faults are random and spurious : there is no set pattern to them. The machine is not reliable and will let me down without warning. I would not reccomend the device and will purchase a PDA with an alternative system in future Rating: - QuestionThis product looks really good but before i buy it i was just wondering how you connect to the internet and can you email? (i have never bought one of these before) Rating: - Don't expect anything from Palm to lastThis did exactly what I wanted from a PDA for two years. Then it developed what seems to be a common problem with the on-off button - it won't turn off. Rating: - Expansion PortPlease be aware that this will only take SD cards up to 1GB (no bigger) in the expansion port. |
