 Rating:  - Fast but not without problemsNo doubt, this is a fast CPU - about 20% faster than my AMD 5600. However, it runs at a higher clock and higher Vcore at idle than the 5600. The upshot of this is the idle temps are 36C (45C core) and the fan is trying to cope with this. The power consumption of the PC with this in is 20W higher than the 5600 at idle, and about 10W less running Prime. And some E8400s have thermal diode problems too - it's a lottery whether you get a duffer or not. And they are not RMA candidates.
