Editorial Review: Product Description: Wacom has reinvented the stylus for the 21st century. The Bamboo tablet is a stylus tablet that lets you write freely, make notes by hand, and browse through your computer applications. Bamboo can be used with an almost unlimited number of applications: from taking simple notes on a document to more sophisticated applications such as photo retouching. Bamboo is compatible with with the Microsoft Vista operating system, Office 2007, and Mac OS, offering a new interactive approach to your computer. Bamboo offers an easier and more intuitive ways of searching for information or creating documents with more impact. When using Bamboo with Microsoft Office, a new personal style of communication becomes possible, including e-mail customisation with digital signatures, or the addition of sketches and scribbles! Plus, by choosing a stylus or a highlighter tool in Microsoft Word, Bamboo lets you take notes on the fly, create sketches or highlight documents, spreadsheets or slideshow presentations. Bamboo was designed with improved features: it includes programmable ExpressKeys that replace the most-used commands such as cut or paste. ![]() Rating: - Best alternative to the mouse for RSI avoidanceI got this tablet not for drawing, signing, or commenting. The primary reason was because the use of the computer mouse was staining my hand and arm. I heard about this alternative while visiting a university in which an ergonomic specialist prescribed these tablets for everyone as an alternative to the mouse. Since I started using Bamboo, I no longer have strain problems with my arm. If you experience, or fear experiencing, Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), this is a great tool. Rating: - A Tablet That Exceeds ExpectationsWhen you buy a tablet for £35 and change you expect it to work but you don't really expect something quite as capable as this one. It works brilliantly on Ubuntu Linux 8.04 and I'm finding using the gimp has never been easier. The pad size bothered me before purchasing but it is more than adequate in the majority of situations. This may not be the most sensitive tablet - in comparison with higher priced wacom tablets - but so far I've found it more than adequate, though ... Rating: - Trial only softwareGreat item but expensive as just a cursor controller. If you want to use it as a graphics tool which is what it is really good for you need to purchase the JustWrite software extra, since the Bamboo only comes with a trial version !!! Even the cheapest digi cameras come with free photo editing software Rating: - Ignore S. Hasler's review...I just picked one up from Pixmania, and although their comms was a little lacking, the tablet itself is perfect. S. Hasler's review states it comes with a French adapator plug? Not possible as the tablet plugs into USB (international) and not the mains, no adaptor needed and the only manual supplied was in 4 languages inc. English. (the text on the back of the box was in French :o !!!) Browse for similar items by category:
