It may have a built in microphone but I am unable to use it as when I have the USB lead plugged in one side of my laptop the microphone lead doesn't reach the socket the other side. No instructions come with this webcam, it assumes you know what you're doing. Read More Rating:  - One of the best webcamsThe camera is one of the best webcams I've used. I considered the 40 Pound VX-6000, too, but decided it was too expensive for my needs. The best thing with this camera, compared to Logitech and Creative models, is it does *not* install tons of hidden drivers, hidden DLLs, and hidden spyware; the Logitech and Creative installation utilities place tons of hidden stuff on your hard drive.
