With the choice of a Bye Bye Standby remote control or simple wall switch (model dependent), you can turn individual or grouped appliances on or off at the push of a button (up to 30 metres away). It will even work through walls and ceilings! Additional Bye Bye Standby sockets, remote controls and switches can be purchased separately to suit your individual needs. Individual Socket Control: Make sure your Bye Bye Standby Remote and your Bye Bye Standby Socket are set to the same House Code and Appliance Number. The House Code refers to the letter (A to H) and the Appliance Number refers to the numeric dial (1 to 8). Obviously I could around switching everything off all the time, but why give myself a bad back doing that, this is a much better idea. Grabbed the other little remote control gadget too and the timer is great! Now with 1 press of the button we have the TV, DVD, Wii, Digibox, & Video all linked in so it gets properly switched off. I have a large tv unit with 3 x 4 gang extensions behind one of which has my media center, adsl router and a homeplug connected. The router has no on/off switch so I needed to pull out the mains adaptor each night as it runs quite hot but no more! The 4 gang is now on one of these and I now have to hit one button.
