 Rating: - Tecknet VS403Delivery was good. Ordered late Wednesday night, on my doorstep in a jiffy bag 2nd class post Saturday morning. The wire I received was about 1m long, but came with no driver CD. The USB chip is Prolific PL-2303, and 5 seconds of Google will result in a driver download from Prolific's webpage, so the lack of CD didn't bother me. Worked fine with my GPS device on XP. Rating:  - USB / Serial port connectorI bought this device to connect my Garmin Venture GPS to my new laptop that has no serial port. It arrived very promptly and was easy to connect with the cable being much longer than shown in the picture. On using the instal new USB device, at first it did not work until I discovered that it had been installed on COM4 (!). (Go to control panel, system, hardware tab, device manager). Read More Rating: - Quality productI use this adapter to connect an old programming device only with RS232 interface to my labtop which only provides the USB interface (it seems that the newest laptops don't come with RS 232 any more), and it works reliably. This adapter also has a nice long lead on them which makes it easier to operate. There are cheaper models but I'd go with this one if you are looking for good build and operation. Prompt delivery, recommand to buy from this shop. Rating: - Great deviceI purchased 5 of these cables so that I could connect to all 5 of my cisco lab devices at one time using hyperterminal. I plugged 5 into a usb hub which gave me serial ports 4-8. The devices I received do not have any LEDs and have a 1 metre cable not the short cable shown in the picture. They are based on the prolific chip so updated drivers can be downloaded from the prolific web site. Rating: - Works as advertisedThis items works fine for me under XP Home on my laptop. Comes with easy to follow instructions and a CD with the drivers. The blue LED glows when connected, glows brighter when a serial device is connected, and flashes as data is transferred between USB and serial.
