Editorial Review: Product Description: The 802.11g Wireless Universal Range Extender/ access point (WURE) connects to your network switch and lets you join your wireless-equipped PCs to your wired network in Access Point Mode, or lets increase the coverage of your existing wireless network in Range Extender Mode. Once you've done the simple setup, you can share data and peripherals, as well as a single Internet account among all your computers. It is based on standard 802.11g technology for fast wireless file transfers and downloads. The Access Point offers you the widest working range -up to 1500 feet -and a great interoperability in mixed networking environments. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Fantastic productExcellent product, did exactly what I needed it to do. My signal has been boosted from always being "Very Low" before to "Very Good" now. The setup wasn't nearly as difficult as I expected (after reading some other reviews on here). We managed to get everything up and running in about 10 minutes. Rating: - DNW faultRead the reviews, but thought I might for once be one of the lucky ones...I wasn't, alas. This device definitely does *not* do what it says on the tin. Tried "One Touch" configuration - Powered up next to WiFi Router;"Find" light flashed; pressed button 10 secs as directed: light stopped flashing (sometimes; sometimes it wouldn't stop at all, sometimes it took much longer than 10 secs); took it 5 yards (sorry, metres - showing my age!) away, well within existing WiFi range; plugged ... If your not running with encryption on your WLAN then you should be. Also for those of you who's modem/router changes the 'Channel ID' everytime it's powered up, this Belkin F5D7132 will change it's channel to match the modem/routers and it'll connect no problem. This is a useful feature. O.K so we have many, many reviews saying what a pain these Belkin ... Read More Rating: - Easy and works perfectly!I live in an older-style London house with thick walls, and I've always had problems getting wireless reception to the whole house. I bought this as a range extender to solve that problem and I can happily say it works PERFECTLY. It was easy as pie to set up out of the box, I simply turned off the security on my BT Homehub, used the automatic setup button to connect the extender, then placed it where I wanted it. When I turned it back on, it found the signal again, but I did have to use the auto search button ... Daftly I got another one and tried to set it up with a SKY ADSL router. After 12 hours I give up completely. This might work straight forwardly with no security, but with SKY WPA Passphrase - a nightmare. I am now going to get the Devolo MicroLink dLan Ethernet connections which should work great for PCs.
