It has been fairly reliable during this time but considering that it is only used on average once a week for half an hour does not equate to an awful lot of use. When I first purchased the machine I was very impressed with its cleaning abilities. The amount of dust that it picks up is staggering, I thought my carpets were clean until I saw what was in the dust container. The hose was also very long which enabled me to get to the top of the stairs. ... Read More Rating:  - CLEANER CARPETBrilliant machine, we had a DC01 previously and thought that was good but the Dc07 knocks spot off that, great suction. On the down side its a little heavy but we can live with that. This vacuum cleaner Sucks!This model, the Dyson DC07, has a common fault and one that is not freely admitted by Dyson. After a while it starts cutting out. That is to say it runs for 3 - 5 minutes then cuts out, then you have to wait for 25 minutes to use it again - for another 3 minutes. This is because of a safety thermocouple that trips the current if the motor gets too hot. This is actually a real problem. Read More Rating: - Overpriced and unreliableOur cleaner arrived broken and was never really trouble free - a number of faults grew developed over the years until the motor went.
