 Rating:  - Hopeless for homemade breadLike other reviewers we bought this slicer to use with the excellent Panasonic breadmaker, based on the generally good reviews. But we soon gave up on it and it is now on its way to a jumble sale. As others have stated, the sharp curve on exiting the blade causes our breads to break up. Plus the blade really struggles to get through the crusts, so it takes forever to cut a loaf. I'm not sure if it's a lack of sharpness or lack of horsepower which makes it so feeble. Only one other person describes having the problems I have with this. Unless you chose to slice the bread very thick, the slices tear as they try to get out through the curved exit. I only bought it to slice my own stoneground wholemeal bread and it is not a success. Rating: - Fantastic !!!This machine is great I had one about twenty years ago (don't know what happened to it) and its just the same now as it was then. Having recently purchased a panasonic bread maker this slicing machine makes life so much easier unless you like your bread sliced in wedges. Its cuts bread as thick or thin as you want and it doesn't drag it. I'm pleased with it as without it the bread machine was going into the upboard and you know how things never resurface once that happens. Great for cutting joints ...
