Editorial Review: Amazon.co.uk Review: Rose Troche's debut film Go Fish quickly became a cult classic for its nuanced, cheerful portrait of a lesbian love in the 90s, so many were surprised when Bedrooms and Hallways contained not a dyke in sight as it traces the merry-go-round of relationships revolving around bisexual Leo (Kevin McKidd) and his friends, including straight Sally (Jennifer Ehle), camp-as-a-row-of-tents Darren (Tom Hollander) and his married estate-agent lover Jeremy (Hugo Weaving). Underneath the cheeky dollops of satire and farce--involving Simon Callow as a New Age counsellor for a men's group and Hollander and Weaving's love romps in other people's houses--there's a more thoughtful analysis of the fluidity of sexuality going on. The fantasy sequences are hit and miss, but there's no doubting the appeal of the leads, particularly the magnificent Hollander, resplendent throughout with bitchy one-liners and a series of ever more outré animal print trousers. --Leslie Felperin Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Great TVThis is a funny, bizare but overall interesting story, well told and well acted! If you enjoy campy comedies, which are slightly surreal, very believable and make you almost cry with laughter then this is the one for you! Comes complete with drum banging men trying to get to love their fellow man! A sex-addict estate agent and his long suffering lover, a man who falls for a straight man only to find his love is recripicated. It is a great story with great actors! ... Read More Rating: - Funny!!! VERY funny!A very funny romantic comedy! Great performances all round, and I nearly wet myself watching Hugo Weaving! I will never be able to watch the Matrix again! I will only think of this film a laugh. A nice tale of forbidden love, confused sexuality and the beating of the "Wild Man" drums whilst trying to come to terms with being a man!!! A nice and sentimental, funny and realistic comedy! (Oh, its a Gay romance by the way!!!) Hilarious and should be in everyone's colelction Rating: - Finally - a light hearted look at sexualityNow this is one of the good ones - curl up on the lounge, glass of wine, surround yourself with friends and get ready to laugh. I enjoyed this immensely. It was refreshingly comedic, not depicting sexuality in a drone and melancholy tone. Yes it embraces stereotypes, but this adds to the humour of the movie and it would be lost without it. A definite must see..... Rating: - Humorous, easy-to-watch, overlooked British filmOne of those films that Britain does best - gentle comedy, witty, excellent acting and no unbelievable plots. Jennifer Ehle is excellent (as she is in everything) and James Purefoy gorgeous, but the person who dominates the screen is Tom Hollander as the token gay flatmate - outrageously OTT but wholly enjoyable. A film well worth watching. Rating: - Great fun entertainment.A fun entertaining look at life, love and relationships. The characters are appealing, energetic and diverse. It moves along at a good pace going from situation to situation. The only thing that let it down for me was the ending. Hmmm? Definitely worth viewing. Feel-good sort of film.
