New Logo And Flash Rotator Graphics |
|
While I am on the subject of graphics - what do you think of my new
logo for APF Bridge? I took my lead from the Lightfast template logo, I
just knocked up the same idea. Amazingly I did this all by myself and
in less than half an hour - using 'Fireworks' a fantastic package. Put simply Fireworks seems to have all the power of other graphics applications but somehow is just so much more intuitive and simple to use. There were a couple of things that I wasn't used to - but I realise afterwards that I had missed a visual cue or two. Like I said - even when it is different it is intuitive. Creating the APF Bridge LogoI copied the dimensions of the original lightfast logo, created a new image the same size with a background colour of black. Using the text tool I picked what looked like a nice font, and typed in my text. I adjusted the border around the text to fill most of the image. Next I adjusted the font size to suit. Then selecting each character one at a time I applied the colours. Next I applied filters - a glow and a drop shadow I think. I renamed to the same name as the original logo graphic and uploaded. Job done. For the first image on the JPG Rotator I enlarged the logo. For the second image I worked with a copy of Image 1, and added a new line, again alternating the colours just as before. I still need to come up with a couple more images to go in the rotator - Waseem, my colleague over at JoomlaShack came up with a couple of useful ideas featuring a bridge (or a curve at least) linking the Joomla logo to the Amazon logo. I am not entirely sure of the rules on using otherpeople's logos even in pursuance of their goals - I might have to ask Amazon for their position on it. Flash JPG Rotator Alignment in Lightfast templateOne final edit to make with regards to the jpeg rotator - I wanted it to be on the right whereas by default it was over on the left. I realise some people may want it centred so here is the edit to make this work: Add this to customize.css |
