trying to get bot to work 2007/06/08 01:50 Karma: 0
OK, i got the categories I wanted to work through the config file
Video,VHS,Music,Magazines,HealthPersonalCare,DVD,Books

now
I want all of Wayne Dyer in the following categories to show on one page for all of the following
Video,VHS,Music,Magazines,HealthPersonalCare,DVD,Books
---------------------
I tried this just for books as a test
{APF Action='SearchInclude' Operation='ItemSearch' SearchIndex='Books'
Keywords='Dyer' locale='US'}

and I got this
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator to inform of the time the error occurred and of anything you might have done that may have caused the error.More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
--------------------------------------
I installed the mambot button so I could check the syntax
{APF Action='ItemInclude|ProductsInclude|SearchInclude' SearchIndex='' Keywords='' ItemId='' BrowseNode='' BrowseNodeName='' DisplayNum='' }

from that I created this
{APF Action='SearchInclude' Operation='ItemSearch'
SearchIndex='Video,VHS,Music,Magazines,HealthPersonalCare,DVD,Books'
Keywords='Dyer' DisplayNum=''50" locale='US'}
That resulted in this
Unrecognised Action in mosAPF.php: Action =

-----------------------------------------
so, what am I doing wrong? what am i missing? What are the browsenodes?

I'm trying to get a page link you have on your demos like Plugin Examples/Basic Examples

I ran the debugger, i really think I setting this up right and the mambot is published
I tried it this way for this debug
{APF Action='SearchLink' Keywords='Wayne W Dyer' SearchIndex='Books' locale='US' LinkText='click here'}
========================================================
Mambot text: { Action='SearchLink' Keywords='Wayne W Dyer' SearchIndex='Books' locale='US' LinkText='click here' }

Here are the botParams
Array ( [debug] => 1 [apf_cache_path] => [templates] => include [cache_folder] => cache [cache_duration] => 12 )

Sorry for not replying sooner - I didn't receive an alert from the forum - I'll dig through the settings later - I must have an incorrect setting in here somewhere .

Regarding your issue - seems to be that some editors are replacing the apostrophe with html entities causing the Joomla code that parses the mambot (plugin) code to not work correctly.

I'm open to suggestions on how best to handle it.
I wonder if we should use a character other than apostrophes or double quotes. Maybe if we use * in place of the quotes and I do a search and replace before passing the mambot tag to the xml parser.

For a quick solution - try turning off 'code cleanup' in your wysiwyg editor's options. If that doesn't work try re-editing the mambot tag in no-wysiwg mode - plain text.

A final alternative is to use a different wysiwyg editor.

None of this is satisfactory - I need a solution - I'll play with the idea of replacing quotes/apostrophes with a different character.

EVERYONE: I need suggestions for a preferred character in the mambot tag. Suggestions??

I don't have a wysiwyg editor all, none at all, so it can't be changing the code

Then you've got me baffled.

Any chance you could provide me with a link to your site, with info about where your component is published, which page has the plugin/mambot published - and perhaps an account that would allow me to edit that page.

Do links to your APF Bridge store work correctly?

Oh, and you can't put multiple SearchIndexes into the mosAPF plugin. The APF Script itself - the .cgi script from MrRat allows for that in the apf_config.cgi admin panel.

You can email me directly 'dean@' this domain - or you can use the contact form - here or hereabouts.

Hi I am also getting the same error:

Unrecognised Action in mosAPF.php: Action =

Dont have SEF on. Also I am using text editor (which I dont want to remove or turn off).

Links to normal store work perfectly. In fact the whole store is OK. I simply want to create a skyscraper module, but get the above error every time.

Think you are right about the character parsing.

Well, I really could do with seeing this in action.
Any chance I can get in and take a look?

I had the Unrecognised Action in mosAPF.php: Action = problem. But when I switched to No WYSIWYG and tried again it works.

Now I just got to figure out how to do a skyscraper
