APF Bridge Demo And Development Site

Hi,

I have configured everything as per documentation.

From a User menu link "Books" I can view the the results of amazon_products_feed.cgi, navigate the store and even search.

Now I want to create a page with selected items. So I create static content called "books" and insert
[APF Action='ProductsInclude' SearchIndex='Books' Keywords='Property']

Of course replacing [] with curly brackets

Then I create a link to static content on the User menu, Property Books.
The result is "Unrecognised Action in mosAPF.php: Action ="

What am I missing?

btw. With SEO on the link to static contents is always "books.html"
But the link to the Component is always
index.php?option=com_apf_bridge&Itemid=59

Just as a note. I also switched all SEO OFF. The problem remains the same

Have the identical problem. Have RTFM'd the manual and examples to my eyes are bleeding, but cant find the problem.

In addition to the examples Sean cites, I've tried a straight single product include in both a blank and existing content using

[APF Action='ItemInclude' ItemId='0321336577' locale='us']

(Yes, curly brackets replaced as well... )

and get the same 'Unrecognised Action in mosAPF.php: Action ='

It's a result of your WYSIWYG Editor. If you look at the HTML in the editor you'll see that the syntax is corrupted. Switch to WYSIWYG Pro or non-WYSIWYG mode and fix the call and you'll be set.

This has caused me similar grief.

Thanks for jumping in Bob, you are correct.

For some reason some of the wysiwyg editors out there are replacing apostrophes with one of the various html entities. Within normal content this is okay - but it kind of screws the mambots.

For some users in some editors switching back to using standard double quotes works.

I think I may have to come up with an alternate syntax - perhaps replacing quotes altogether with some other character and programmatically substituting that character with quotes prior to passing it to the xml parser that converts the mambot string into something the mambot can use.

I'm a bit ill at the moment - and haven't got around to releasing the promised new version of the component - maybe I can experiment with this idea in time for the next release.

And yes - I heartily recommend wysiwyg pro - it costs about £25 / $50 if memory serves, but it saves on countless hours of frustration.

It is possible to get the APF plug-in to work with the TinyMCE editor. In Joomla Admin, go to Mambots->Site Mambots and click on the TinyMCE WYSIWYG Editor link. In the parameters on the right hand side, uncheck "Code Cleanup".

Great Advice.

My workaround was to change the Default WYSIWYG editor in the Global Configuration tab to non-wysiwygy while I edited this parameter.
