You won't see any cookies from Amazon until you go to Amazon.
The APF Bridge (like the APF Script) sets its own cookies from the domain the script is installed on. The cookies contain two unique identifiers which are used to persist shopping cart information across the whole visit.

When you checkout from the shopping cart and go to Amazon these identifiers are passed to Amazon. At that point a cookie is set by Amazon which ties your current visit to Amazon with the remote shopping cart session (from the script).

Of course if you choose not to use the script's shopping cart and create links that go direct to Amazon this all becomes moot as your associates id is embedded in the direct links.

Hope that helps.

Yes Amazon can track your orders with your associate id.

Step 1: Set up APF script from mrrat.com/aws/ including your associate ids for as many 'locales' as you wish to use.

Step 2: Set up APF bridge in Joomla.

Step 3: Click through some links either direct to Amazon - or to your shopping cart and then click to 'checkout'.

The following day - check your associates reports you should see clicks registering for your account. On the orders report there is a little triangle at the bottom of the table labelled 'clicks with no orders' (or similar) - click this - the exact products you clicked on will be listed.

You could even use a new tracking id never used anywhere else to separate out the clicks from APF/APF Bridge. For more info on 'tracking ids' (multiple associates ids) see Amazon's help documentation.
