Product Description:
With PHP for the World Wide Web, Third Edition: Visual QuickStart Guide, readers can start from the beginning to get a tour of the programming language, or look up specific tasks to learn just what they need to know. This task-based visual reference guide uses step-by-step instructions and plenty of screenshots to teach beginning and intermediate users this popular open-source scripting language. Leading technology author Larry Ullman guides readers through the new features in PHP 6, focusing primarily on improved support for handling any language in a Web site. Other addressed changes include removal of outdated and insecure features, plus new functions and more efficient ways to tackle common needs. Both beginning users, who want a thorough introduction to the technology, and more intermediate users, who are looking for a convenient reference, will find what they need here--in straightforward language and thorough readily accessible examples.

- DO NOT BUY FROM SELLER!!! Never responded. Cost me $35.I waited and waited and waited and sent inquiries and called customer service... Absolutely NO RESPONSE from seller to my inquiries or those of Amazon.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER! HE WILL NEVER RESPOND AND YOU'LL LOSE YOUR MONEY.
Took Amazon a MONTH to even let me file a claim, and then it was "a one time exception as a favor"... sheesh!
It takes a month before you can file a claim, three more days after that to actually be able to enter it online, two days ... Read More

- Not the best... Could be better...Being a little new to programming, I thought this book was for me. However, I was dissapointed. I have a good working knowledge of HTML... I had to refer to various other sources to learn...
Definitely not for beginners... Also the layout of text is just too complicated.

- Very useful book!I borrowed this one from the library, and ended up purchasing a copy. This volume is even more useful and readable to me than the PHP for Dummies book!

- For the beginnerThis is a very good book for those who take their first steps into PHP.
Intermediate and advanced users should buy something else.

- 1000 Stars. Best PHP Book for Beginners! Period!!!I can not say enough good things about this book. After mucking around and getting frustrated by several PHP books that were not written to be understood, I found this book. What a difference. Larry Ullman is a TEACHER! He takes you step by step through all the processes and the code. He makes it clear, understandable and even intuitive. His examples are real world, practical, and useful. He covers all the theory but with a dialogue that is geared to the average person. All the scripts are on his ... Read More
