Rating:
- The Darkest Evening Of The YearI really enjoyed this book, it was fast paced and hard to put down. I did however feel the ending was a little weak and too nice and easy. Also the little downs syndrome girl featured in the story was a little hard to believe, she was too well adjusted to have gone through what she had. Over all I enjoyed it and would buy future books by this author.
Rating:
- Save your moneyI had to write a review for this book as it is a waste of your precious time reading it. The story builds nicely although it is not exactly a page turner. The ending (without giving anything away) is a huge disappointment. It reminded me of school essays where to end things quickly you write, "it had all been a horrible dream and they lived happily ever after". At least I know better now than to waste my time reading any of his other books!
Rating:
- It's just OKThis book wasn't one of Koontz's best.
The dog angle was a bit weird and not very interesting, I think he can do better.
Rating:
- Easy read but not his best. This is a good read, well it only took me a couple of days to finish it which is always a good sign with me.
However once again I`m left feeling let down by Koontz ending,it`s getting to be a regular thing with him now,he builds up the story and the characters really well especially the `bad guys` only to polish them off in this case just under a full page...bang and she was done....indeed.
Rating:
- Shaggy Dog story with a twist.Returning to Dean Koontz after a number of years I wasn't let down by this story of people's past catching up with them. The book centres around Amy Redwing, abandoned at birth she finds solace in the company of Dogs and the book begins with her rescuing a Golden Retreiver from it's drunk, abusive owner. What follows is standard Koontz territory but written in such a way that makes it compulsive reading. The insight into the bond between man and dog is especially moving. Recommended, especially to anyone who loves dogs.
