Allow me to introduce myself. As it says above I am Dean Marshall and you are visiting the website of the company I own, manage and run, Dean Marshall PC and Internet Consultancy. I provide a wide variety of PC and Internet related services included by not limited to:
Computers and the InternetI have been involved with computers since they hit the UK high street in the early 80s. My interest was really piqued when I was at university in 1993 - 98, which was the period when the World Wide Web was unleashed to the UK masses. During this period I was regarded by my contemporaries as something of an expert in 'finding information' online - and it wasn't long before people were offering me money to find information that they could use in their studies. This lead to the launch of 'Professional Researcher' a web site aimed at helping people find the information they require - through this site we continued offering our research services to a wider market. In previous employment I have worked as a Management Consultant within H.M. Customs & Excise, and part of my work currently involves computer troubleshooting for businesses and private individuals within the local area - Lancaster and Morecambe, Lancashire Northwest England. Helping people with computers and the Internet is what I do. I now offer professional support for the scripts named below. If you need help with installation, upgrades, troubleshooting or any other aspect of using these scripts or with running a website then I can help. Open Source SoftwareI am involved in a number of Open Source projects, most notably: Amazon Products Feed - a perl/cgi script that integrates almost the full product range of Amazon (.com / .co.uk / .ca / and more) into your own site, allowing you to earn commission on all sales (up to 10%). As a satisfied user of the Amazon Products Feed script I now help others by answering questions in the developer's support forums. I also develop a number of mod files (plug-ins) that extend and adapt the way the script operates. Amazon Products Feed BridgeI have also developed a component that integrates the output of MrRat's Amazon Products Feed into your Joomla generated pages, complete with title, and meta tags. Really exciting is the fact that you can have the full output of six Amazon countries in your online store AND you can integrate specific products or search results directly into your content items. Joomla - Award winning Content Management SystemBrought to you by the same team of developers that developed the award winning Mambo CMS, Joomla is a Content Management System that enables your team to maintain a web site with many advanced features in a collaborative manner without requiring team members to possess in-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS and other alphabet soup. For best results at least on person in your 'team' should have some knowledge of server related technologies (Apache, PHP, MySQL and phpMyAdmin), and one member should have some knowledge of HTML (or PHP) and CSS - but this team member can be outsourced. In addition to helping out in the forums, I have written a number of articles to answer Frequently Asked Questions, and I have helped hundreds of people with installation, upgrade and other 'spurious' problems. I recently started working for JoomlaShack the leading Joomla template house and Joomla professional service provider. My role is primarily to support the people who buy JoomlaShack's templates with help and advice in the forums - probably the best support forums in the Joomla community by the way - not my words (although I am immodest enough to say such things) but the words of JoomlaShack customers (paraphrased slightly). By the way if you do check out JoomlaShack's templates - I am a fan of 'Elevation', although Simplicity fitted my specific needs more closely for this site. Networking on the NetYou could say I am connected. As you can imagine, I meet quite a few extremely helpful and extremely knowledgeable people from a wide range of specialties - in the event that your issue is outside of my knowledge range I will endeavour to find someone with the knowledge you require, and either bring them within the scope of your project or refer you on to them. Obviously I work with Joomla on a daily basis - I run my own websites and I manage sites for a range of clients. Together with my experience of helping others, I believe this puts me in a good position to provide quick, reliable and affordable solutions to your requirements.
