Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Same as Melitta CM1 Type 203-26
I first purchased this excellent coffee grinder in 1981 when it was also sold as the 'Melitta CM1' (also produced in Germany). It is only in the last few months that the motor has started to fail. What a wonderful, reliable product!

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Simple grinder which lasted around two years
I bought this grinder for Christmas 2006 and I'm now looking for a replacement for Christmas 2008. It lasted around two years.
It is a fair design, very straightforward, what you can see in the picture is what you get. However I expected it to last longer than two years. Something has become detatched/loose internally - the blade spins whilst it is empty but doesn't spin if coffee is inside. I did also use it for grinding spices, mainly cinnamon. I imagined it would be a fairly simple repair, ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Run of the mill
When my wife dropped and broke our Bodum C-Mill Coffee Grinder, she replaced it with this item. It does the job well enough, and the snug fitting, generous lid is a good feature that allows you to tip the ground coffee into it before emptying into the cafetiere. The downside, however, is that every time I do a grind I'm left with the unpleasant whiff of burnt shellac from the grinder's little motor. I'd take back my old Bodum 5679 C-Mill Electric Coffee Grinder any day.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Long distance grinder
I make a lot of coffee: I fill this with beans at least twice a day, every day for the past ten years or so, and this little baby is still going strong. Sure, a burr grinder makes it easier to be precise, but after all this time I'm pretty accurate about the grind time. Some other reviewers have had a different experience, but I can testify that it's at least possible for one of these to last over a decade of constant use.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Grinds sufficient for espresso
This is a good first grinding mill. Will grind fine enough for espresso and will also further grind coffee that is bought not fine enough. Don't use water to clean unless youw wait a long time for drying. I just grind ten to fifteen seconds ( three times five seconds) for espresso then empty and clean using an unused (for painting that is) half inch paint brush to remove all coffee powder without damaging grinding blades. Value for Money? - DEFINITELY.
